Rules of Engagement
Terms & Conditions
Our commitment to providing a structured, ethical, and professional Islamic education environment for your family.
Last updated: 7 August 2026
1. Enrollment & Agreement
- By enrolling, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms and Conditions, including our Fee, Cancellation & Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, which form part of this agreement.
- Acceptance of these Terms is required to complete enrollment. Your acceptance is recorded with your account details, date, and time, and a copy of these Terms is emailed to you at enrollment.
- These terms and policies apply to all students and families.
- Where a student is under 18, the enrolling parent or guardian accepts these Terms on the student's behalf and is responsible for all fees.
- Mizan Academy may revise these terms at any time. Material changes will be notified to your email on file and apply from your next billing cycle.
2. Subscription, Fees & Cancellation (Summary)
- All classes are provided under a monthly recurring subscription, billed in advance by automatic recurring payment to your saved card.
- Fees are payable for every month in which classes are delivered to your student — attendance is acceptance of the fee, regardless of the status of your payment card.
- Cancellation requires written notice at least one month in advance to our official channels, and is effective only once confirmed by us in writing.
- Stopping payments, going silent, blocking our channels, a failed or replaced card, or a verbal remark to a teacher does not cancel a subscription.
- The full rules — including billing pauses, failed payments, suspension timelines, outstanding balances, and refunds — are set out in our Fee, Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
3. Communication Policies
- Official channels: WhatsApp (+93 74 430 0061) and info@mizanacademy.org. Notices we send to your email or WhatsApp on file are deemed received.
- Do not discuss payments, cancellations, or contact details directly with teachers. Teachers are not authorized to agree changes to your subscription, fees, or enrollment — only the official channels can do so.
- All concerns, requests, and feedback should be conveyed through the Communication Team. We commit to responding within 3 business days.
4. Attendance & Scheduling
- Students should be ready 5 minutes before class time.
- Classes are delivered live via Microsoft Teams. Session records (dates, times, durations, and recordings) are kept as part of our quality and supervision system — see our Privacy Policy.
- Cameras must be turned on during classes to enhance learning, unless otherwise agreed for family circumstances.
- Notify administration in advance of any holiday or leave. Approved leave is confirmed in writing and reserves your teacher and time slot; fees continue in full during approved leave, as set out in the Fee, Cancellation & Refund Policy. Unnotified absence does not reduce fees while classes remain scheduled.
- If a student misses a class without notice, the class is considered delivered.
- Eid holidays are announced in advance and are paid leave for teachers; no make-up classes or refunds apply for Eid days.
5. Academic Management
- Requests for teacher changes are processed promptly through the Communication Team.
- The Academy reserves the right to change teachers for quality purposes; families will be informed.
- Qualified substitutes are assigned during temporary teacher absences. A class taught by a substitute is a delivered class.
- If the Academy cancels a class and cannot offer a make-up session, the corresponding fee portion is credited or refunded.
6. Gifts & Ethical Standards
- Teachers are strictly prohibited from soliciting gifts, cash, or private payments of any kind.
- Appreciation gifts must be arranged through the Communication Team.
- Families must not arrange private lessons or payments with Academy teachers outside the platform. Maintaining teacher–student integrity is our highest priority; breaches may result in termination of enrollment.
7. Suspension & Termination by the Academy
- The Academy may suspend or terminate a subscription for: non-payment (per the timeline in the Fee, Cancellation & Refund Policy), abusive conduct toward staff or teachers, breach of these Terms, or misuse of Academy content or systems.
- Suspension for non-payment is not a penalty against the student — classes resume immediately once payment is restored or a payment plan is agreed.
- All fees for classes delivered before suspension or termination remain due.
8. Intellectual Property
- All course content, materials, recordings, and resources are the property of Mizan Academy.
- Unauthorized distribution, reproduction, or commercial use is strictly prohibited.
9. Billing Questions & Disputes
- If you believe any charge is incorrect, contact us first at info@mizanacademy.org within 30 days of the charge. We will respond within 3 business days and correct any genuine error immediately, including a full refund where warranted.
- You agree that our records — enrollment and acceptance logs, class delivery records (including Microsoft Teams session records), invoices, payments, and communications — may be used to resolve any billing question or payment dispute.
- Initiating a bank chargeback for fees owed under these Terms without first contacting us is a breach of these Terms; the Academy will contest such disputes with its records and may suspend services and decline future enrollment until the matter is resolved.
Official Agreement
By continuing, you agree to these institutional policies.
