The dedicated designed Holy Quran is now inside the Mizan portal

At Mizan Academy, our students learn the Quran live with their teacher, on Microsoft Teams, in small classes. From this month, every Mizan family also has the Holy Quran inside their own portal. It is the same colour-coded Madinah Mushaf the teacher uses in class, so what a child reads at home looks exactly like what they read in their lesson.

This post explains where to find it, what it can do, and how it helps children learn.

Where to find it

Open Microsoft Teams on your phone or computer, signed in with your child's Mizan account (the same account used for class).

Open the Mizan Academy app inside Teams. On a computer, look for it in the left-hand bar. On a phone, tap More (…) at the bottom. If you don't see it, type Mizan in the search box.

On the Home page, tap the Quran card. You can also open Library and tap Holy Quran.

The Quran opens on Surah Al-Fatihah. Swipe or scroll to turn the pages.

You can also sign in on the web at www.mizanacademy.org with the same Teams account.

What the new Mushaf can do

🎨 Tajweed colours

The letters are coloured to show the tajweed rules, just like the famous Madinah Mushaf. Children learn to see where to stretch a sound, where to stop, and where to make ghunnah. Prefer plain black text? Tap Uthmani. One tap takes you back to Tajweed.

🎧 Listen, word by word

Tap Listen and hear Sheikh Al-Husary read slowly in his teaching style. The words light up as he reads, so a child's eyes follow his voice. Other reciters are available in Settings.

👆 Tap any word to hear it

This is the feature our teachers love most. If a child is unsure about one word, they tap it and hear only that word. Tap again to hear it again. Tap ten times if needed. This is how a child fixes a difficult word for life.

🔖 A bookmark for each child

Save the exact ayah where your child stopped. Next time, tap Continue and the Quran opens right there. Every child in the family has their own bookmarks.

🔍 Big, clear text

Tap A+ to make the words larger, or Fit for big text in one tap. The lines stay neat and even, even on a small phone. Good for young eyes, and for grandparents too.

🌙 Day and night

Choose White for daytime or Dark for reading before sleep.

📝 Translation and word meanings

Turn on Translation to see the meaning in Pashto, Dari or English under each ayah, or Word-by-word to see what every word means.

🇦🇫 In your language

Every button is in Pashto and Dari, as well as English.

How this helps a child learn

Learning the Quran is built on one thing: repetition. The new Mushaf makes repetition easy, and even fun.

Before class: the child listens to the ayahs the teacher gave them, following the lit-up words.

Practice: they read the ayahs themselves, tapping any word they are unsure about to hear it again.

Homework: they practise until they can read smoothly, then record their homework recitation with confidence.

Revision: the bookmark takes them straight back to their place, so no time is lost finding the page.

Ten minutes a day with this Mushaf, sitting beside a parent, does more than an hour once a week.

A small request to our families

Please sit with your child and open the Quran together tonight. Let them show you how to tap a word and hear it. When a child teaches a parent, they remember it forever.

If a page does not load, wait a moment and tap Try again. For anything else, message our office and we will help you.
